Lcd printing time display

Post by João Ferreira » 25 Aug 2017, 20:57

Hi,
Is it possible to see the predicted printing time in prusa display?
I also like to learn more about gcode..is there any tutorial in this forum for hellobeeprusa?
For example, when printing larger pieces my hbp does not have a stop command and sometimes it goes straight against the fixed frame..this means that I have do input some gcode in my slicer?
And I do like to have some other features, for example, having skirts with both estruder nozzles..
Where do I learn this stuff?..I already see that some of you guys have some start and end and other gcode changes for what ever do you need..

Hello João,

If you are using Cura you can add a start gcode like this "M117 {print_time}" to display on the screen but I am not sure that it will stay there as there is a progress bar that is constantly updated.

For Slic3r I don't think it can estimate the printing time.

Personally I don't think displaying the expected time is very useful as the estimate can be sereval hours off on big prints

3D printing can be a little daunting at first, there are way to many upgrades and changes you can do to the machine and the slicing software, don't give up :)
