PLA MCPP – Environmentally friendly material
PLA is one of the main types of filament used in 3D printing, being the easier material to work with and even more environmentally friendly than most materials because it is biodegradable.
Lactic polyacid (PLA), is produced from lactic acid obtained from renewable sources such as corn starch, sugar cane, tapioca roots and potato starch.
The PLA’s biodegradation process lasts 180 days in composting conditions, which means that is necessary to have 80% humidity and a constant temperature of 60ºC, without producing toxic residues. In addition, the lactic polyacid is still recyclable. PLA can also be incinerated without the release of toxic fumes.
