Can you use a mini blow torch to clean a nozzle after removing the nozzle from the printer?

Hi all,

The title says it all. Many people told me that using the butane torch or heat gun usually does more harm than good.
Can any one shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance!

Hello Bamber,

Although the nozzle can be cleaned that way, the filament material will severely degrade inside it, creating charcoal that can loosen up at any moment and will end up blocking the small nozzle opening leading to extrusion issues.
Other than that the degraded material will affect the flow of the filament inside the nozzle and affect the heat transfer from the block to the filament lowering maximum print speed.

Best regards
