Good job grim! It's looking nice.

Can you increase the distance between the linear bearings a bit? I think it would give a more stable structure. :)

What 's the thickness of the part where the motor will be assembled? Don't forget that the motor heats quite a bit, and if you are printing the part it might deform due to temperature.

Keep up the good work ! ;)

Hi all,

I drastically changed the design and came up with something that uses most of the old construction. And finally had some time to assemble.

Here is a picture:

The bearings are IGUS drylin btw.

Now I need to recalibrate and I will post results as soon as this is done :).

I still need to fix the top!

regards,

Grimm

Nicely done, especially because you're using the same metal parts as the original x-carrige and keep it in that way a low cost upgrade.

This looks really interesting! Since my rods started to "wobble" I was thinking of replacing them. But your idea looks cool :o please keep us updated

Ok,

So I still need to print some more support pieces but I wanted to share the first semi-successful print after the mod.

I'll be posting updates here :)

Hi grimmthesilent,

Excellent upgrade you have there and so far it looks promising... :D for the top I would recommend you to print a guiding box to minimize the possible wobble of the rod.

I'm now getting some Z wooble issues and I was thinking about the same solution, but unfortunately I don't have much spare time for one of this changes all by myself.. :|

Looking forward for your updates, meanwhile I'll try to minimize my issues to keep printing as needed.

Congrats and keep up the good work!
