Temperature of steppers too high

Post by lamdeptunhien9x » 27 Jun 2019, 08:01

I just finished to assembled the bee Prusa and it seems that everything is fine . The first prints are very nice. However the temperature of steppers seems to be too high approx 75 ° C .

Is it normal? Any idea of what it might be wrong?

Thank you in advance .

Hello lamdeptunhien9x,

The steppers on the helloBEEprusa are designed to work up to 120ºC, so it should be completely ok with the conditions you described.

With that said you can reduce the ammount of power flowing on the motors by adjusting the trimpot on the stepper drivers, follow procedure 1 on the prusa fixes document available here:

There is a video on the last comment to help you with the process.

Beware that this reduces the available torque on the motors so if you use very high print speeds it can decrease the precision of the machine and even allow step loss. In most cases it works perfectly after adjustment and even improves the print quality slightly as the motors vibrate less and the extruder motors generate less heat reducing jams.

Best regards
