Stealth mode via Gcode command?

Post by ilindov » 28 Oct 2019, 20:07

Hello,

Can I enable stealth mode via Gcode command? I'm trying with "M569 S1 X Y", but I think it doesn't work as expected. When I manually set to Stealth mode from the LCD menu, it's much quieter, but it doesn't remember the last selection and I have to do it manually every time.

Thank you!

Hello ilindov,

Our custom build of Marlin uses slightly different Gcodes for controling the Trinamic as the method used is not the default used by Marlin.

To enable Silent mode you should add the following to the end of the start Gcode:

Code: Select all

M906 X925 Y925 Z925 E1100 ; Stepper driver current
M916 X1 Y1 E1 Z0 ; Set all stepper drivers except Z to stealthChop mode
The current needs to be changed as well as the stealthChop mode has a lower torque.

The Stealth mode available on the display no only does this as it limits the maximum speed acceleration and jerk the machine does to reduce the noise even further, to activate it you should add the following lines to the end of the start Gcode:

Code: Select all

M906 X925 Y925 Z925 E1100 ; Stepper driver current
M916 X1 Y1 E1 Z0 ; Set all stepper drivers except Z to stealthChop mode
M203 X80 Y80 Z2 E40 ; Set maximum feedrate
M201 X400 Y150 E1000 ; Set maximum acceleration
M205 X5 Y5 Z0.2 E1.25 ; Set maximum jerk
In order to return to the default mode you just need to remove these lines you added on the end of the start Gcode as the printer defaults are set in the beginning of the default start Gcode for the B2X300.

Best regards
