Feeder hack

I love my hellobeeprusa, but in my opinion it's feeder is the biggest weakness. It just isn't very well engineered.
Everyone suffered from jammed filament or just bad flow.

After having a rage attack on the printer I finally swapped the factory feeder with a generic remote feeder.

The hardest part was to remove the press fitted pinion from the stepper. Then with a bit of grinding and cutting it is fairly to match both together.

PS: I never printed so good.

Hi apocas,

Really nice job on the customization, looks really clean :D

I'm sorry to know you had problems with the original extruder, it is a little more finicky than the one you installed mostly due to the manual filament tension adjustment that requires tuning for every material. Personally never had any major issues when the tension is correct with lots of filaments :)

How about the print quality after the modification can you post some pictures?

Best regards
