[SOLVED] 2 extruders, printing in the same time

Post by fgarcia » 25 Sep 2015, 12:15

Hi,

I want to print to 2 cubes using both extruders, like one has 1 temp and other as other (to speed up the process of tunning materials), or to print 2 pieces at once.
I'm using cura 15.04.2.
Does anyone already made two separate parts at once and can explain?

Thanks in advance!
Thanks

No idea if it's possible and i don't this it is, but if it would be, the program would be modified to drive silmutaneously extruder 1 and 2, could be interesting for some use.

Hello fgarcia,

I see you don't have any clear response regarding your question.

The question is beyond my knowledge, but will contact BEEVERYCREATIVE and see if they can give a proper response.

If you already know how to do this, or if it isn't possible (at the time), your feedback is always helpful to the community.

Best regards

Hello fgarcia,
Sorry but through Cura it is not possible to do what you need :(
You can edit the Gcode to define the temperature of each extruder and with a bit of work you can also print two separate parts at once.
Unfortunately I don't know another way.

Cheers,
Andre

Thanks André.

Even so does anyone knows any software (free preference) that does 2 parts at once?
Thanks

Hello

Actually there is non, there is a version of marlin, the firmware, that is called marlinx2that can copy the movement of one axis to the other. Since the extruder is in reality one axis you can do it. You just got to set by hand the temperature of the second extruder in the g-code.
But this feature is schedule for a next update of the HBP, we are importing the features of the Monkey Extruder from Hello3dprintingworld to HBP were you will be able to do that quite easily. We are now in the final part of the developing and we expect to have this feature release between the end of the year and the beginning of the next one. Its something that needs to be well tested so we guarantee that its user friendly and highly efficient.
Until then if you are comfortable with firmware you can try the marlinx2, I would be glad to help you in any question you have.

Thanks emmanuel

I'm too young on Hbp to start messing in the firmware :D

Maybe when that version should be realesed i'll give it a try.
Thanks
