[SOLVED] x axys Stepper motor Overheating

Post by Alex_Card » 23 Nov 2015, 18:41

Hello all,

I am a new user of 3d printers, but during the printing of my second make, I notice that the stepper of x axys is very very very hot, 1 hour only after the beginning of the printing. I believe that it is not normal but somebody can help me.

My HBPrusa have 3 days so it's a new one ...

Thanks a lot

NEMA steppers can achieve pretty high temperatures and without knowing the exact values it will be hard to help you

Yes, these motors get Very Very Hot, too hot too touch.
I have thought about getting an extra fan to keep cool or add a heat sink. You will also find the same for the Y axis
Z generally does keep cooler as its not working so much.
Don't know what the cut off point is for tempreture to high.

Happy Prints :)

Relax Alex, that's normal. ;) These motors get so hot that you can't even touch them.

I had thought about adding a heat-sink to minimize this.
