Calbration problems

Post by meobeou » 22 Jan 2019, 02:02

a while ago I wanted to try an dual extruder print. Unfortunately it turned out that one heat cartridge was broken and I had to replace it. Today I wanted to set both extruders to the same height, but it seems that the nozzles are both stuck in the upper cooling heat sink. I even removed the small screw, but it doesn't move a bit. I tried the same with a replacement hot end, I could slide the upper nozzle part in the heat sink easily, after I print something and want to move the extruder up or down (after the cool down of course) it is stuck.
Can you help me, please?

Hello meobeou,

Please try disabling the extruder cooling fan, preheating the hotend to 200ºC, waiting 20min and then remove the piece. The heat cycles can cause the parts to expand a bit resulting in them getting stuck.

If that still doesn't work try adding some WD40 and repeating the process to allow the parts to release from each other.

Do not forget to re-enable the extruder fan once the process is completed.

Best regards
Domingos Rodrigues
