Artur is a full-blown maker and an advanced 3D printer user. He has an online services company and, since four or five months ago, he has another company and this one sells 3D printers and 3D printing services, Think3D.

I personally met Artur Lourenço almost a year ago, but he had met our BEETHEFIRST 3D printer a few months earlier. At the time, BEEVERYCREATIVE was at the SAPO Code Bits in Lisbon 2014, a programming event we were invited to take part in. He had a friend visiting the event and when his friend met us there, he called Artur saying “Artur, since you’re a 3D print guy, did you know that we have here in Portugal a company called BEEVERYCREATIVE and they developed their own 3D printer?” His answer was: “Ask the guys how can I buy one!”… and the saga begins!

As he has a profound maker profile, he always had 3D printers like prusas and mendels, never imagining he was going to buy something like BEETHEFIRST, a non maker, consumer-grade 3D printer for professionals like architects and designs. His “maker blood” made him test  his BEETHEFIRST profoundly, always pushing the limits.

A few weeks ago, Artur started to post in BEEVERYCREATIVE’s Facebook Community, screenshots of the BEESOFT’s maintenance menu, BEETHEFIRST’s software. When he reached 114 prints without recalibrating his BEETHEFIRST and with the same quality as the first one, he posted this achievement. At this point he sent me a Facebook message, saying “I’m going to be in the Guinness with this” he said. “This has got to be a record for printing without recalibrating the printer!”. And he made this his personal mission, and posted a few pics in the community.

AL BEETHEFIRST print 114It’s difficult to read the counter near the “calibrate now” in this pic but…. First screenshot posted in the community subtitled: “Guys, is it too early to call Guinness? To calibrate, or not calibrate… Not calibrate! 114 prints with the same quality of the first one and counting! Yes, yes, I know, I’m very lazy! :D”

AL BEETHEFIRST print 168Later, he posted this: “168 and counting… 😉 Sending job #169 to beethefirst right now.”

300 3 300
And now he posted this: “Celebrating #300 prints without recalibrating! Congrats #BEEVERYCREATIVE #BEETHEFIRST”

I think he was inspired on 300, the movie, because the number looks quite the number on the movie. 😉
He now says that BEETHEFIRST is the most reliable 3D printer he knows, and we are, as you can all imagine, very happy to hear that! 😀
I believe his is still counting! 🙂
