6 Simple steps to export GCode from Cura to use on BEETHEFIRST 3D printer
For the last few months we’ve been in the process of opening our BEESOFT, giving it a wide range of new features and capabilities. Our community and our BEETHEFIRST users have been asking for the possibility of using a generated GCode from other Slicing softwares. Our Software Development team worked hard to make it possible. Until this moment, if you wanted to print something you had to use BEESOFT all the way through, now, if you prefer, you can use this version of Cura software to generate the GCode to print on your BEETHEFIRST 3D printer, or any other BEEVERYCREATIVE’s 3D printer that uses BEESOFT.
To do this, you’ll have to follow a few simple steps and we’ll guide you through them. The following instructions will show you how to add BEETHEFIRST as a new machine on Cura, setup the needed options and finally export the GCode. Click on the images to zoom it if needed.
STEP 1 – Add BEETHEFIRST 3D printer as a new machine on Cura
Go to “File –> Machine settings” and click on “Add new machine”. Follow the screenshots below and use the same options.
STEP 2 – Access “Expert –> Open expert settings…” and compare with the following screenshot:
STEP 3 – Load your model, configure setting and export GCode
Follow the screenshots below and use the same options.
STEP 4 – As seen on the screenshot below, use the following commands for start.gcode:
M130 T6 U1.3 V80
G1 X-98.0 Y-20.0 Z5.0 F3000
G1 Y-68.0 Z0.3
G1 X-98.0 Y0.0 F500 E20
STEP 5 – As seen on the screenshot below, use the following commands for end.gcode:
STEP 6 – Finally export the Gcode to BEESOFT
Still on Cura, go to “File –> Save GCode…”.
Now you can print it on BEETHEFIRST using BEESOFT, doing “File –> Print Gcode file…”:
And that’s it!
We hope you like this new improvement as much as we do! Try it! 😉
